Fat Belly Fire Pits

Fat Belly Fire Pits are hand crafted and individually built in Kyneton using old fashioned skill and engineering.
Constructed from 4mm corten steel they provide incredible strength and durability, matched with safety and cooking functionality. Finished with a rustic old world charm this multi-functional fire pit makes outdoor cooking practical and inviting. Fat Belly Fire Pits are designed with outdoor cooking in mind. On each of the four metal plates located on the surface ring we have incorporated cooking attachments, this includes a spit rotisserie holder and a sleeve to insert swivel cooking hotplates on a pole or hang pots from a chain. Cooking attachments are included in the purchase price.

Safety was a major consideration when designing the Fat Belly Fire Pit. Incorporating an outer steel ring, filled with sand or crushed rock, insulates the outside surface from the radiant heat and maintains heat mass in the core. The height of the fire pit ensures flame, coals and embers are contained in the belly of the fire. The surface of the outer ring when finished provides a sturdy wide bench for storing hot cooking equipment and utensils.

The key engineering feature which makes Fat Belly Fire Pits combust so well are the four air intake tubes welded equally around the pit, located under each metal plate. This allows oxygen to be drawn into the core fuelling the fire and forcing smoke out and up.

Installation is simple. You turn the round fire pit on its side and roll to your desired location. Lay it down flat on the ground and level. Fill the outer ring with sand/crushed rock and compact. Allow room for your pavers, bricks, or chosen material to finish the surface.
